24FEB22 Mr Inga Tuigamala was the ODICE. Sadly Inga passed away on 24 February 2022. Alliance Health Plus expresses its condolences to Mrs Daphne Tuigamala, the children and extended family. AH+ is the Sponsor of Inga's ODICE Project. We helped Inga's intervention in obesity and diabetes type II. His project Intervened to change what obesity and diabetes sufferers eat. Change what .. Change how much .. Inga wanted sufferers to experience experience transformation - to health and wellbeing.
24Feb22 Join me. We are now suspending all email for more details. Inga was looking for people who want to do he was doing. He did not allow anyone to copy him without prior medical advice before making their decision. He was interested in volunteers like him, obesity and diabetes scientists, corporate sponsors and families who don't know what to do next to help a loved one suffering the effects of obesity or Diabetes Type 2
24FEB22 We have a media crew. But all our work is suspended. We're in start up mode. Got ideas? Or materials you think we should use? Or channels or gear to lend us from time to time? Or an event you want us as ODICE to attend? Contact us securely on Signal https://signal.org/install | if we re-open.
One day you're well, fit and healthy. Before you truly realise and accept it you, you aren't. Well. Or Fit. Or Healthy.
What happened?
I'm Inga Tuigamala. I was a New Zealand All Black. Last century, really. So 2002 was my last match game. And in those days I was 120 KG and TV footage of me in rugby games all over the world shows me running like the wind. Dodging opposition players. Helping my All Blacks & then Rugby League mates to win! Sure! Fit? Sure. Well? Sure. Healthy? You bet!
BUT NOT TODAY | WEDNESDAY 2 JUNE 2021
That's why I am working with Alliance Health Plus in Auckland. AH+ is my sponsor for my ODICE PROJECT. ODICE stands for Obesity Diabetes Intervention Champion Evangelist.
That's me.
In February 2021 I fell asleep when I got home from doing some chores. My family could not wake me. An ambulance took me to hospital. I woke up three days later. Doctors told me I was diabetic. Type II. And I was so sick that I stayed there for three weeks.
The scales told the hospital I weighed 180 KG. They could not put me on normal household scales. So they used a weighing wheelchair. If you or someone you care for have experienced something similar to me, above, then think about being healthy. And do something. Signal me or check the rest of this website for help-information.
On a Wednesday morning 2 June 2021 I had a coffee with the Alliance Health Plus Chairman Mr Uluomatootua S. Aiono. Or Ulu (to me). He didn't know about my three days' diabetic coma in February at Auckland Hospital. But he could tell I was unhealthy.
Over coffee my story came out. And Ulu told me about the Hon Andrew Little (New Zealand Minister of Health) turning NZ's health sector onto its transformation head, inside out, and all about. Ulu explained that AH+ is NZ's only Pasifika PHO (primary health organisation) and one of seven PHOs in Auckland.
Two hours later we had agreed that Ulu would discuss our ODICE concept with AH+ CEO Mr Wayne Williams. If he supported it then we would seek AH+ Board support for sponsorship of me as the ODICE.
After three weeks of preparation and discussion with my wife Daphne and our children, I kicked off my ODICE Project food and drink change at midnight on Sunday, 27 June 2021.
It's been wild. Tough a lot of the time. One day at a time. And painful on some days. Can you do it too? Talk to your doctor or medical advisor first. And Signal me or look through this site for help.
